Writers and authors tend to be loners. I am. Though I enjoy friends and activities, I have always treasured my solitude. Thus, being inside during a “Stay at Home” order, is not a hardship. There are books to be written, and I have the time to write them!
Granted, I am as fearful as any, of this mysterious and dangerous virus. Except for a rare foray out for groceries, I am hunkered down at home. House projects beckon, but so does the keyboard. It is a daily battle to see who wins. During the past few weeks, there has been progress on both.
As for writing, I have completed, and edited, the first book of a new series, based on my experience as a Middle Eastern belly dance instructor and performer. The first draft of the second book is nearing completion. There is a sense of accomplishment. Since I have several partial manuscripts of other projects to complete, I will not run out of work, or ideas. There is an advantage to being an author during these quarantine times. Unlike others who are going insane with boredom, I am not. The creative imagination has to limit. For that, I am grateful.
Now, since people are stuck at home, it’s my hope that they discover my novels, read them and review them. Hint. Hint.
