Are you ever in need of a vacation, yet you haven’t any vacation time or enough money for an airline ticket? You can also avoid the hassles of airport security, delays, cramped seats and poor service in one easy step.
Grab a novel.
The easiest and most economical escape is at your fingertips. Download a new book or purchase a print copy at the bookstore.
Novels, especially romance novels, whisk you away to unknown places and worlds where you can live vicariously through amazing characters and are guaranteed a happy ending.
When writing novels, I experience the same escapism. In my first novel, “Paradise Found,” I was able to experience the exotic beauty and heat of the enchanting Seychelles Islands where I had visited a number of years ago. Writing a romance that takes place on the powdery beaches amongst the palm trees helped me cope with the blustery cold in the dead of winter. In my debut novel, “Lab Test” with Crimson Romance, I was able to live vicariously through the eyes of a black Labrador Retriever. Talk about an escape! In my second Crimson release, “Hearts of Steel,” I was able to pretend that I was a wealthy steel heiress in love with a hunky employee. My February release, “Wishes and Tears” is the ultimate escape. My heroine travels back to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake where she more gets rattled than the city.
Novels can whisk us away from our every day lives, responsibilities and stresses. For a few hours, we can live in the heads of other people and experience their joys, heartbreaks, love and “happily ever after.” After, there is a sense of calm and a smile on the face. Our lives are seen from a new and different perspective.
Take a vacation with a novel. You won’t regret it.
